Transformative Leadership

This module focuses on transformational leadership in a dynamic and agile business environment. You will learn to take on leadership tasks within a team without relying on a specific position of power. You will develop skills such as conflict facilitation, negotiation, dealing with resistance in change processes and self-reflection. By applying them in your own professional environment, you will subsequently be able to critically reflect on your actions and identify opportunities for personal development. In unpredictable situations, you will be able to develop innovative and systemic approaches by linking different insights.

Interpersonal Communication Skills

In this module, you will learn about different communication theories and how to apply them to your personal work environment. On the basis of various practice-related cases, you will learn to apply different moderation and presentation techniques and receive feedback from your fellow students. Furthermore, this module will refresh your knowledge on writing papers according to scientific standards.

Strategic Airline, Airport and Air Traffic Management

This module which is a core module of this program, deals with the strategic orientation of airlines, airports and air traffic control. In a seminar followed by case studies, you will learn in small groups what influences there are on the aviation industry, what trends there are for the future and what factors have an influence on the economic success of an aviation company. You will learn the methods necessary to examine the strategic direction of a company and gather the data and information needed to do so. After the module, you will be able to weigh different strategy options against each other and develop competitive business strategies.

Strategic Business Development

This module focuses on developing new business opportunities, business areas and business models. You will assess opportunities and risks, as well as strengths and weaknesses of new business areas. In this context, you will identify international and intercultural challenges in business development and work to overcome them. A main aspect of this module is the roll-out and implementation of new international and intercultural business opportunities, business areas and business models as well as the implementation of M & A-based market entry strategies.

Future Trends in Marketing and Sales

In this module you will learn to identity and apply future trends with special reference to aviation and tourism, in marketing and sales. The marketing and sales concepts, instruments, planning and implementation are differentiated according to B2C- and B2B-markets in the aviation and tourism industry in order to apply them in the following step. The aim of the module is to create a marketing plan for innovative products, services and business models in the aviation and tourism industry and to understand and evaluate the customer life cycle in the aviation and tourism industry.

Digitalization and Business Transformation in Aviation and Tourism

Digitization and business transformation are playing an increasingly important role and also represent key success factors in the aviation and tourism industry. In this module, you will learn to put the basic idea of digitization into the context of e.g. business processes or strategy development. Various topics such as customer relationship management, IT project management or big data are taught using interactive examples.

Innovation and Project Management

In this module, you will learn about the latest trends and disruptive developments in innovation as well as different approaches to project management, such as standardized and agile methods. The module also covers design thinking in innovation management and offers strategies for dealing with resistance to change and measuring innovation success. In addition, you will explore entrepreneurship as a tool for driving innovation and have the opportunity to analyze case studies and business cases in the aviation and tourism industries.

International Tourism and Travel Management

Through this module you will learn to evaluate the current trends in e-business and how to manage them by applying e-business theories. To ensure sustainable business success, you will learn to act confidently in a dynamic organisational environment and to look for innovative solutions. One content of the module will also be to comprehend and manage a destination as a product and brand. In this context, you will participate in seminars with international case studies and teamwork. The module is run jointly by Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences and Aegean University.

Sustainability and Legal Impact Management

How can air traffic be managed sustainably and legally efficiently? In this module, insights into sustainable air traffic management, such as new technologies like Sustainable Aviation Fuel or improved processes are combined with the legal framework, such as travel or aviation law.

Finance Management and Management Accounting

How can companies be controlled and monitored sustainably through management concepts, key figures and financial methods? Through in-depth insights into e.g. accounting concepts, investment methods or cost control, important skills are taught in order to be optimally positioned as a future manager.

Global Logistics

This module is delivered by Huddersfiels University in Huddersfield, UK. You will learn to develop independent ideas with a focus on the transformation process in the industry. You will also look at implementing techniques to improve classification processes and optimise supply chain management.

Safety and Risk Management

After this module, which takes place at IATA in Singapore, you will be able to distinguish between the different ICAO Safety Management Standards and apply safety concepts. You will be taught how to identify and analyze hazard sources and evaluate safety risks. You will also learn how Safety Management Systems differ and how they are applied to specific situations. Topics such as safety culture and human factors influencing safety are also covered. By applying this to your own work environment and linking various contents, you will be able to develop innovative and holistic approaches to unpredictable situations after this module.

 

Business Case Studies in Aviation and Tourism Management

In this module, previously learned skills and expertise are used to address a real-life situation in a case study. Through discussions and lectures, the optimal methods are taught to develop strategic ideas and confidently communicate them in a professional concept.

Data Science in Business Research

 

In this module, you will learn to formulate empirical questions and to answer them using the appropriate statistical methods. You will learn to critically examine studies and literature, as well as the methods needed to collect and interpret data yourself. Ethical issues of the research process will also be highlighted. By the end of the module, you will be able to critically analyze aviation and tourism data and use it to make informed business decisions and forecasts. You will also be empowered to develop and implement your own solutions for your work environment.

Master Thesis with Colloquium

As the finalization of your studies, you will work on your own topic in the Master's thesis in order to optimally apply the skills you have learned so far. With the thesis you prove your skills and develop your own solutions to problems in an in-depth or interdisciplinary context. You will defend the thesis and show that you are able to critically examine your results and open points.

Additional Module*

Through this module, you will learn to critically examine and analyze your career decisions and activities. You will be able to analyze both theoretical and practical outcomes and place them in different contexts.
