How can I apply to the program without a previous academic degree?

In Hessen, prospective students with relevant professional experience have the opportunity to enter a Master's program directly after successfully passing an aptitude test. The Hessian Higher Education Act (§16, Para. 2) regulates the scope of the aptitude test: Applicants must demonstrate a level of knowledge equivalent to that of a Bachelor's or Diploma degree. At the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences you, as a qualified professional, have the opportunity to apply directly for admission to our MBAs (Aviation and Tourism Management or Sustainable Business Development). Here we show you what you need to consider:

In addition to a completed vocational training, candidates need at least 4 years of full-time professional experience in a relevant industry and a university entrance qualification.

The admissions committee decides on admission to the aptitude examination and recommends the members for the examination committee.

The aptitude test consists of the following tasks:

  • Four written examinations of 90 minutes each in four selected subjects of a relevant Bachelor's degree program.
  • A project paper (completion period of 8 weeks) + colloquium (30 to 60 minutes)
  • One professional discussion (30 to 60 minutes)

Applicants will receive a certificate confirming that they have passed the aptitude test, showing the overall grade as well as the individual examinations with their grades and subject areas. The certificate can be used to apply for admission to the respective MBA.

A fee is charged for the aptitude test. The fee to be paid is currently € 690,00.

What differentiates this MBA Program from the others?

Our program is completely international – all courses and lectures are taught in english. We have students from all across the globe and we are proud to say, that we offer courses in several different countries. We have partner universities in Athens, England and other international locations.

Our numerous events allow for great networking opportunities and we encourage students to meet with fellow experts in the aviation field. Since Frankfurt is an international hotspot for aviation, we are able to connect students with industry leaders and introduce them to potential career opportunites.

Our yearly cohorts are relatively small, which allows for more intimacy between the students and lecturers, and put a lot of focus into one on one interactions as well. Students have the chance to work in diverse teams and work on several group projects.

Can I study and work at the same time?

Yes, since the two year program is indeed part-time, many of our students choose to work and study at once. In fact, we encourage students to gain as much professional experience as possible before studying, as well as throughout the duration of the program.

How much time do I have to conduct my master thesis?

The thesis is written in the fourth semester, and students have a total of 20 weeks for completion.

Can I apply for a scholarship?

Unfortunately, our university does not offer full scholarships. Please note our two-year program is designed for young professionals from the tourism and aviation industry. This means it is a part-time MBA allowing you to combine work and studying.

If you have very good marks and are volunteering you can apply for the so-called Deutschlandstipendium and receive about 300€/month for a year.

The information on the university’s website is only available in German. Please contact Ms. Ursula Klein for further information: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Please take a look at the DAAD database for incoming students: https://www2.daad.de/deutschland/stipendium/datenbank/en/21148-scholarship-database/ or search for a suitable scholarship on Eurodesk opportunity Finder: https://programmes.eurodesk.eu/learning#.

If you can immigrate with a student visa you are allowed to work part time. Further information can be found here: https://www.daad.de/en/study-and-research-in-germany/first-steps-germany/side-jobs/

You may also ask your government or company for financial support programs or take a student loan into consideration.

Is it possible to pay the tuition fee by installments?

Yes, we have different payment options available, and can offer up to four separate payment installments. Feel free to contact us to discuss individual payment options.
